Freelance Fact Checker – Edible Indy and FORMA

We’re looking for a seasoned fact-checker who can efficiently and effectively verify details for both of our publications. As a freelance fact-checker, you’ll review the facts mentioned in print articles across two publications, Edible Indy and FORMA, and work closely with our Managing Editor to make sure properly verified articles go to print in a timely manner. 

For this role, you’ll be responsible for independently verifying the accuracy of quotes, names, titles, details, statistics, etc. mentioned in articles across two publications. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to show their work. 

This freelance position is contracted by issue, and at a negotiable set rate.

Requirements for the Role:

• Previous experience fact-checking with publications of comparable or greater size
• A background in journalism and communications
• Availability to screen two quarterly publications in alignment with our 2026 print schedule
• Willing to speak on the phone or via email as an unbiased professional extension of our publications.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of the Indianapolis Area
• Experience with the Home and Design sector
