In July 2009, Sun King Brewing Company rolled out its first keg of beer for delivery. Nine years later, it has grown to be a leader in the craft brewing movement in Indiana. Sun King Brewing makes flagship, seasonal and specialty beers that have received multiple awards at the Indiana Brewers Cup, the Great American Beer Festival and World Beer Cup competitions. It continues to impact Indiana in its success and donations to hundreds of community organizations.

On Saturday, June 16th, Sun King Brewing Company will hold its ninth annual anniversary party, SKB9, at its downtown brewery. The event is open to any guest age 21 or over and will feature live music by national recording artist Dr. Dog, Sandy Alex G and more.

For the seventh year now, Sun King Brewery is partnering with local concert promoter and event producer MOKB Presents to ensure that the celebration will showcase the brewery’s passion for beer and love for music.

“Sun King Brewery has been one of MOKB Presents’ favorite partnerships,” says MOKB Presents founder and talent buyer Josh Baker. “Working with their team to curate the anniversary party is something we look forward to every year. It’s allowed us to develop relationships with artists at early stages, such as Sturgill Simpson and St. Paul & the Broken Bones, and then continue working with them throughout their careers.”

SKB9 will open its doors at 5pm, but there is room to be fashionably late as the music starts at 5:30. Tickets for general admission are $25 in advance and $30 the day of the show, available online or at either of the Sun King Brewery tap rooms in downtown Indianapolis and Fishers. Partygoers can also expect a GFJ IPA release—new beer, live music and a vibrant atmosphere can absolutely be expected at SKB9.

Anniversary concerts such as this have become a staple on summer event calendars in Indianapolis, attracting sellout crowds and dedicated craft beer drinkers. Sun King Brewery has made itself out to be a go-to destination for live music and award winning craft beer in Indiana. The brewers at Sun King are ready to show new and old visitors what it’s made of, so stop in at SKB9 for great beer and a good time.
