Local Ambassador Tina Jesson, owner of Tina’s Traditional Tearoom in Carmel, joins Jamie’s Food Revolution!

Jamie’s Food Revolution is right at the heart of all the work Jamie and the Jamie Oliver Food Foundation do day in, day out, to engage and inspire people of all ages to learn about food and how to cook it.

Tina Jesson from Indianapolis joins the Food Revolution 2016 campaign!


An ongoing, global campaign to provoke debate and inspire positive, meaningful change in the way our children access, consume and understand food.


We’re in the middle of a global health crisis. Right now an astounding 41 million children under five are overweight, while another 159 million are too undernourished to grow properly. We’re failing both our children and future generations by not empowering them with the right food and skills they need to grow healthily and happily.


Meaningful change is built from the ground up. The Food Revolution aims to educate and inspire people and communities to make better food choices and lobby governments and businesses to make positive, lasting change.


The Food Revolution is a global, year-round campaign. Every May, Food Revolution Day takes place to celebrate success, raise awareness and invite more people, businesses and governments to join the ongoing Revolution. More than 2000 ambassadors in more than 115 countries are currently planning events, both big and small.

In Indianapolis, Tina Jesson is already planning events with cooking demos and recipe give-aways at her Tearoom at 30 N. Rangeline Road in Carmel, on Friday, May 20 at 6pm and is looking for schools & businesses to take part in and around other parts of the Circle City. She is excited to be involved in a truly global event.

Tina says says: “I’ve been a food ambassador since 2012 and having sold many of my from scratch English baked goods at local farmers markets at the time and having access to some great fresh produce it seemed a natural thing to do. I’ve always cooked from scratch, but it surprised me how a whole generation doesn’t know how to cook from scratch here in the US. I first came across Jamie Oliver’s movement while my own kids were at High School in the UK in 2005 and he raised the issue of what kids where being fed in schools. He challenged government to actually look at the nutritional value of food in schools. He highlighted how the processed food was made and it caused an up raw from parents when they found out. Schools went on to replaced many poor quality processed foods with fresher alternatives. Now the movement has gone global and Food Revolution Day is one day where we can help raise awareness and educate and teach people some great life skills to help keep them healthy. Great fresh food is so flavorful, you just need to know how to put it together easily and quickly and with Jamies recipes and a few of our own, we can make that happen.”
