Food Con 2024: An Unconventional Convention

Manned by local businesses and foodie neighbors, FoodCon is returning to The Harrison Center for its 11th year with spotlights on everything from hydroponics to raising goats and chickens. 

A Feast of Food and Knowledge

Want to eat an edible bug? Or learn to cook on a car engine? Ever heard of mushroom music? Food Con is the place for you. In its 11th year, Food Con celebrates, perhaps, the unconventional side of the art and food culture in Indianapolis. 

The event brings together local businesses and food enthusiasts to share knowledge on topics like hydroponics, beekeeping, vertical gardening, and more.

This year’s event also features unique activities including the chance to eat an edible bug, cook on car engine, and listen to some mushroom music, and learn more  food preservation and food deserts. Attendees can also enjoy a screening  of the “Food for Thought” Short Film Series presented by Indiana Humanities.

Discover Local Vendors

Local vendors such as The Chaotic Forager, Strawberry Moon Farm, Tulip Tree Creamery, and food trucks like Black Leaf Vegan and Garnacha Spot will be onsite. Additionally, the Indianapolis Public Library’s Seed-Saving and Mobile Library will join the lineup.

Coinciding with the Harrison Center’s First Friday event, guests can explore art and wine pairings, family recipes, and art exhibits by Jay Parnell, Josh Rush, Elise and Caleb C. Keitt, Willard Johnson, Kristin Whitney, and Barb Knuckles. 

Supported by the Indy Arts Council, City of Indianapolis, Indiana Arts Commission, Christel DeHaan Family Foundation, and Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation, the Harrison Center aims to renew Indianapolis by connecting people to culture and community.
