RECESS: Green on the Scene, Served Hot or Iced

The Near Northside has a new neighborhood spot in Recess, Indianapolis’ first and only matcha-forward cafe and event space. Matcha, specially-grown ground green tea leaves traditionally used in Japan, has become a ubiquitous and trendy ingredient across the US over the last several years, and its popularity is no exception among Hoosiers– Recess has been packed to bursting since its public opening on January 2nd.

Inside, you’ll be greeted by kitchy-cozy decor, curated matcha latte recipes, and ceremonial blends and accessories for matcha connoisseurs. There are also plans for the space to host community events in the near future.
