Edible Indy Cookbook Club Returns March 1st with recipes from Mi Cocina by Rick Martinez. Secure your spot here. This is a free event.

It’s 1pm on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The doorbell rings and one after another, people march in with covered dishes. Within minutes, a veritable all-you can-eat-buffet is set out on the table. Whipped baba ghanoush sits next to a platter of roasted butternut squash nestled in a bed of whipped ricotta, drizzled with chile crisp and herbs. All four burners on the stove are occupied by a Dutch oven with simmering soups, stews and meatballs. Desserts start to take up their own corner of the table with Russian Honey Icebox cake and Vanilla Bean Rice Pudding squeezing in. Wine bottles are opened, water is poured, music is on, people are chatting. A cookbook is propped up in the corner and people are vying for overhead shots of the spread. Welcome to Cookbook Club.
In November 2025, Edible Indy revived the Indy Cookbook Club – a short lived but well loved gathering that went dormant in 2020– and what a return it was. As if no time had passed, a cookbook was chosen, recipes were selected, and once again we gathered on a Sunday afternoon for the ultimate pot-luck.
The concept is simple and the return on investment is high: Cook a recipe, show up, and share. In return, you’ll leave with much more than leftovers. An afternoon of laughs, connection, shared purpose and of course – going back for seconds.
