Nestled just outside of Indianapolis in Danville, Beasley’s Orchard is a beloved fall hotspot that marries Hoosier heritage with modern agriculture. Known for its crisp apples, legendary cider, and a whole host of family fun, this third-generation family farm has become a must-visit destination each autumn, and beyond.

The farm that is now Beasley’s Orchard began in 1946 when Milton and Irene Beasley purchased the original 80-acre property. In those early years, the family raised hogs, grew grain, ran a small greenhouse, and maintained a modest orchard. Their commitment to hard work and locally-grown food laid the foundation for what would become this regional favorite.

The Beasleys’ son John and his wife Debbie expanded the farm’s operations to include 250 acres, subsequently elevating the orchard to a household name across Central Indiana. Today, the farm is run by their son, Calvin Beasley and his wife Brittany as the third generation to manage the property.

Calvin never expected to return to agriculture full-time. However, after earning a degree in economics from Indiana University in Bloomington–along with minors in anthropology, entrepreneurship, and small business management–he came back in 2015 with a fresh vision. Under his and Brittany’s leadership, Beasley’s has developed into a vibrant agrotourism destination that continues to evolve year after year.

Classic seasonal fun is the main attraction each autumn. Visitors can enjoy U-pick apples and pumpkins, take scenic hayrides, and get lost in the massive corn maze (Humpty Dumpty is the theme for 2025). Kids love the apple cannons, straw mountain, and the giant jumping pillow, and everyone loves visiting the food trucks offering delicious local eats.

But Beasley’s has so much more to offer than autumn adventures. Their U-pick offerings are on a near-constant rotation throughout the growing season, including strawberries, zinnias, raspberries, sunflowers, and marigolds, with even more crops planned for future seasons.

The farm markethoused in a charming historic barn–is a must-visit destination. Chief among its features are fresh farm-raised produce, including tender cantaloupe, leafy green kale, and sweet-savory butternut squash. But the real star is their award-winning apple cider, which has won recognition year after year, and was most recently crowned Best in Indiana in 2024 by the Indiana Horticultural Society.

Beasley’s also partners with Indy’s own Ash & Elm Cider Co. to craft their hard ciders, using only their farm-grown fruit. Cider enthusiasts can choose between their Traditional Cider (made with only a single ingredient–their apples) or the Strawberry Hard Cider, which features only apples and farm-grown strawberries. Looking ahead, Calvin and Britany dream of expanding their hard cider lineup and potentially opening a tasting room right on the farm.

Whether you’re looking to stock up on apples for home baking, enjoy some of their award-winning cider and donuts, or snap the perfect sunflower selfie, Beasley’s is open year-round and bustling with fun.
