Every game day party needs the perfect seasoned snack mix. You’ll know how good this is when you see it disappear. Here’s our ideal ratio.
Serves 8–10
Ingredients
For the seasoning mixture:
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 packet (1 ounce) Ranch Dressing mix (such as Hidden Valley)
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
For the snack mix:
- 3 cups crunchy corn snack (such as Bugles or Fritos)
- 3 cups Corn Chex cereal
- 1 cup Cheez It crackers
- 1 cup mini twist pretzels
- 1 cup Gardetto’s Snack Mix, Roasted Garlic Rye Chips
- 1 cup roasted and salted cashews
- Parmesan cheese to taste
- Finely chopped parsley or chives
Instructions
- Arrange 2 racks to divide the oven into thirds and heat the oven to 250°F. Line 2 rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper. Alternatively, use one large 16- by 13-inch roasting pan set on the middle rack.
- Make the seasoning mixture: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt butter. Add Ranch Dressing mix, Worcestershire sauce and red pepper flakes. Whisk until fragrant and combined, just a few minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine snack mix ingredients. Pour warm seasoning mixture over the top and stir until all pieces are coated. Distribute evenly across both sheet pans (or add the entire mixture to the roasting pan). Bake, stirring every 15 minutes until the snack mix is coated and toasty, 50–60 minutes. Allow to cool for 10 minutes on the pan. Shower with grated parmesan and herbs to your liking and serve.
- Note: This snack mix can be made ahead and lasts a long time. Prior to the parmesan shower, store in an airtight container at room temperature for several weeks. For a real treat, warm gently in a 250°F oven for 10–15 minutes, add parmesan and herbs and serve warm.
