The beloved Indy Winter Farmers Market will return for its 16th season under new leadership. 16 Tech Community Corporation, responsible for developing the 16 Tech Innovation District, will officially take over operations starting this season. The IWFM, is a community market that has connected Indianapolis residents with local farmers and food producers for 16 years, and will continue its mission under 16 Tech’s guidance.
A PERFECT FIT
Having hosted the market for the past three years at the AMP Food Hall and Marketplace, 16 Tech is well-positioned to make this change a smooth transition. The market’s core values of celebrating local entrepreneurs and growers, offering SNAP benefits, and fostering a warm and welcoming environment will remain a priority under 16 Tech’s leadership.
Since 2012, Growing Places Indy has played a vital role in creating the Indy Winter Farmers Market, helping it evolve into the great gathering space it is today. As GPI passes leadership to 16 Tech, the organization has expressed its gratitude for the ongoing community support.
“Growing Places Indy is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have stewarded this market for more than a decade, and we’re confident that 16 Tech will continue to build on this foundation,” said Laura Henderson, Executive Director of Growing Places Indy.
“The commitment to providing access to fresh, local food, fostering strong vendor relationships, and engaging the community will only grow stronger as 16 Tech takes the reins.”
WE ARE GROWING
During the last season, the IWFM welcomed 84 local vendors and saw more than 24,000 visitors. The upcoming season will continue the Triple SNAP Match program, ensuring fresh, nutritious food is accessible to all and maintaining a welcoming environment for both first-time and returning shoppers.
The Winter Farmers Market has given sustainably-minded family farms a venue to sell products throughout the winter and fall; providing the community with year round fresh food. The market will include 70+ Indiana produce farmers and artisan food producers selling meats, dairy products, preserved foods and baked goods.
The IWFM will return on Saturday, November 16, and will run weekly from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The season will conclude on April 26, 2025. The market is located at the AMP Food Hall and Marketplace. To apply or learn more visit indywinterfarmersmarket.org. Check out the full list of vendors here.
